Aside form our immediate blood-line connections, Brad and I are part of a family: the Coast Guard. Compared to other services, we are quite small, but our hearts are just as big. When one of us mourns, we all mourn and reach out in support.
Today is a sad day for our family. During a routine training exercise, one of our helicopter crews went down [in Hawai'i]. Three members' bodies were recovered; one is still missing. Our thoughts and prayers for these family members.
